The Shenandoah Sharks had a practice swim meet last Saturday. Everything ran just like a real meet. Ethan swam in two races – the 25m freestyle and the 25m backstroke. He did great! He did especially good at the freestyle! He placed 3rd in his heat. The first real meet is this coming Saturday. We’re looking forward to it.

In the queue, waiting to swim. They were able to keep the race moving so smoothly by having kids lines up in queues about 8 deep.

On the blocks, waiting to get in the water for the backstroke.
On your mark, get set…
Go!! I was working as a scribe for his first race, so I did not get to take any pictures of his freestyle. Mark had the camera, but he didn’t think to take any pictures, darn it!

Almost done!
Waiting for his time.
Zach and Ethan goofing off between races. There was a lot of down time between the races, so we had to keep the kids busy. Zach is doing the Shenandoah Shark “Chomp”. The meet was a lot of fun and we’re looking forward to a busy summer.
